While attending the Guild of American Luthiers (GAL) convention in Tacoma, WA this summer, I met Robert Force (https://www.robertforce.com/) sitting with some friends in a sheltered outdoor patio. That small patio acted like an amphitheater, projecting sound out across the open space in front of the Admin building. Robert was playing an Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer and to me, it sounded like angels. No kidding, it sounded heavenly. Not only is Robert a master player but is also an authority on the instrument. After listening for a while he stopped and we chatted about his dulcimer and his playing technique (Thanks, Robert!). I knew I had to build one of my own…
